Here at TOKYOFIXEDGEAR we love all types of bicycle culture & design from all over the world especially Japan. Like us all our stock comes from small independently minded companies. Our goal is to bring in high quality and original bicycle goods from all over the world.

TOKYOFIXEDGEAR.com is a web shop with no shop front currently dispatching all goods from Tokyo, Japan. On 23 rd June 2008 TOKYOFIXEDGEAR.com will be unable to take any orders for 1-2 weeks. When we commence trading we will be shipping all goods from London, England. This will reduce shipping costs for UK & European customers. We will also offer a free pickup option on purchases made by customers based in the London area. We look forward to getting involved in the UK fixed gear scene!

How we do Business

We order in all our stock direct from its country of origin. As a small business this allows us to offer an ever expanding and vast array of stock while still keeping prices down. This also allows us to order in stock which is difficult to buy outside its county of origin and take requests for any items we do not stock.

Custom Orders

We offer custom made track frames from frame builders that do not otherwise sell outside of Japan or to non Keirin riders. All of the frame builders we deal with work alone out of small workshops and have been working this way for decades. Baring this in mind please be patient with orders.

For all custom orders please contact us for the builders order form. We also send out further contact details so you can call us at anytime for changes and updates. All orders are shipped from the builder’s workshop to our warehouse to be checked unless otherwise requested. We offer full refunds if the frame arrives damaged or not to your exact specs.

Item Availability

If we are out of stock on any items for longer than three weeks we will remove the listing from our site. Please do not hesitate to contact us on the availability on any items. Because of the nature of many of the items we sell certain products are never restocked.

Card Security

Your bank card details are encrypted before being sent over the internet, so that they cannot be intercepted by anyone. We have a secure online card processing facility provided by Paypal . Your bank card details are taken on a secure web page hosted by our online card processor, Paypal. Before being sent across the internet, your bank card details are encrypted (turned into unidentifiable code) using a method called SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). This means that your bank details cannot be intercepted by anyone else.

All items are shipped by EMS Japan.

Delivery - How Quickly Will My Order by Despatched?

We dispatch orders within three days of receiving your order. Occasionally, a particular product is not available for mmediate despatch. In the event that we cannot meet our usual delivery times, we will notify you of the expected delivery date by e-mail, and give you the option to cancel your order.

Delivery Times - How Long Will it Take to Receive My Order?

Your delivery should arrive between 3-5 days. Please understand delivery may take longer than the time quoted due to circumstances beyond our control.

Missing Deliveries

If you think the delivery of your goods is overdue, please contact us so we can track your package.

Customs

When ordering goods from us for delivery overseas, you may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied once the package reaches your country. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we ave no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, please note that when ordering from us, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.

Delivery Cost

Delivery cost is dependent upon the weight of your order. Because of the high cost of shipping goods out of Japan we do the best we can to absorb shipping costs on all goods excluding frames.

Returns Policy

Our returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.

If you have received incorrect or damaged goods, we will give a full refund. In the case of a refund for damaged goods, we reserve the right to an independent opinion on whether the goods qualify for a refund. In the case of incorrect or damaged goods, we will reimburse the cost of you posting the goods back to us as long as the cost has been agreed first.

Privacy Policy and Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and according to the Which? Web Trader Code of Practice. We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent. We do not disclose your information to third parties (except for delivery purposes).
